How Does MDM Notary Services Give Back to the Community?

When I started MDM Notary Services a year ago, my mission was simple: provide affordable and accessible notary services to residents in assisted living communities and skilled nursing facilities. Since then, I’ve continued that mission by offering mobile and remote online notary services to make things easier for everyone—wherever they are.

But from the very beginning, I knew I wanted my business to be more than just a service provider. I wanted MDM Notary Services to be a part of something bigger—to make a difference in the community.

A Cause Close to My Heart: The Alzheimer’s Association

Before starting this business, I spent over a decade working in assisted living, from 2011 until my retirement in 2024. During that time, I saw firsthand the importance of community involvement and giving back. Many of the communities I worked in were deeply committed to supporting the Alzheimer's Association—raising awareness, fundraising, and standing behind the mission to find a cure.

Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia have affected so many lives—including mine. Two of my aunts and an uncle were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and I’ve worked closely with countless seniors navigating life with dementia. Just recently, I learned that one of my favorite college professors had passed away after battling this disease. Each story reinforces why this cause is so important to me.

Taking Action: The Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Ocala

In my first year of business, I participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Ocala. I raised funds, walked, and volunteered the day of the event. This year, I’m stepping up my involvement even more. I’ve joined the Ocala Walk Committee, formed a team under MDM Notary Services, and will be walking and fundraising again.

MDM Notary Services giving back is a powerful way to support those affected, honor those we’ve lost, and fight for a cure.

MDM Notary Services is a one-person operation (well, two if you count my loyal four-legged assistant, Palooza 🐾). We occasionally work with independent contractors to serve as on-call witnesses, but everything else is done with care and heart right here at home.
